You have to go with Jordan:
6 rings
All Defensive team every year
Killer instincts
Evolved his game from slasher to post player
Scoring leader every year

There are guys like Wade, Bryant, and James that have 1 or 2 similar characteristics, but none that have or ever will have all of them. Plus, Jordan never had a dominate big man on his team.

Lebron has the skills to be as good as Jordan, but he doesn't have the killer instinct. Jordan didn't care if they playoff positions were set and the Bulls were playing the last place team in the league. He would go out there and send a message to the rest of the league. I think that's part of the reason that the 72 -10 season record won't be broken for a long time. Kobe seems to have that instinct, but even though he's a great basketball player as well, he falls a notch below Jordan's overall skills. If Lebron can develop that killer instinct (which I doubt because usually you either have it or you don't) then watch out!

Jordan. When the game is on the line, I would much rather give the ball to Jordan. LeBron is a good player but Jordan is a great player. Win or lose, it's on Jordan's shoulders. LeBron still doesn't have the late game that Jordan does. He could miss every shot in the game but I would still feed the ball to Jordan. If LeBron has a bad game, pull him.

Why do we care so much about who is the next Jordan. The man doesn't play anymore. He played and left his mark and moved on. So should we. Time moves forward. Appreciate what he did for the game and let the new players be themselves and stop with the same comparison year after year. We don't need a "New Jordan" attendance and jersey sales are at an all time high with out him. Do the research.

Too Early to tell. When Lebron has won a couple NBA titles, we can then start the conversation, but until that happens you can't even compare them.

I will say that Lebron is probably better at age 22 than Jordan was at that age.

Ha! Nobody will ever be as good as Jordan. When he played ball there was something called teamwork. Nowadays it's every man for himself. Half of what made Jordan "Jordan" was the chemistry he had with the other teammates. Now it's all about making a bigger paycheck and if it's with a crappy team that's OK too.

In my opinion he has the tools to be better than Jordan. He should practice his free throws till he he can he his free throws a minimum of 75%, Jordan was over 80% free throw shooter. Also he is taller, stronger, and more massive. James is close to 245, he is like a power forward with shooting guard speed. Offensively he is getting close to being as good as him. Defensively he needs immense work. He coasts till the game's end, Jordan went at his opponents for the whole 48 minutes. James has the tools to be better, he just needs the drive. How does anyone explain him waking up near season's end? He was bored, now that the finish line is near he is back to himself. He will be better than Jordan, he just needs to mature, play defense, and make free throws.

No knock on Lebron, but he couldn't see over the top of Jordan's shoes. Michael is in a class by himself, Lebron hasn't got past Koby or D-Wade to establish the best in the NBA today, it's still an argument. There is no argument about Jordan, even the best of his era give him his props. When Charles Barkly gives you respect, you are in a class by yourself. There will never be another Michael.

I credit Michael Jordan with changing the entire game of basketball from the Bird/Johnson TEAM concept to the WATCH ME DUNK concept. No insult intended for along with his extraordinary skills he brought that patented ability to elevate his team mates' level of play and was himself a team player. No, the game changed because of those who modeled themselves after him. They brought the highlight reel stuff but left the team concept behind.

The blue print is there for those with the extraordinary skills like Lebron but the intangibles aren't something you can slam dunk.

Jordan gets my vote for his innovation and elevation.
Not since Wilt Chamberlain has there been as dominant a force in basketball and If you could compare a shooting guard with a center you'd have yourself another debate.

Besides, how can you follow a nail biter into battle?
No, Lebron is a great athlete and player but more on the levels of Vince Carter and Kobe Bryant. Which is pretty good company.

LeBron is great, but he's got some HUGE shoes to fill. Let me give a clear picture.

In the last 56 years, 12 teams have won the championship without a hall of fame (or future hall of fame) center. 6 of those THAT'S RIGHT, HALF were won by Jordan.
