There is nothing you can do about that now. What you can do is make sure you are healthy now. And make sure you get regular checkups with your OB/GYN - let him/her know about anything you have done in the past so they will know if there are risks to worry about.

The same thing happened to my sister and everything worked out fine. She was several months pregnant before realizing. She was on prescription meds, occasionally drank and smoked. Once she realized she was pregnant, she stopped everything. - The baby was just fine.

Simply taking a drink without knowing you are pregnant PROBABLY didn't do any harm BUT I don't know about taking vicodin. It depends on what class it is and I don't know. You really need to talk to a doctor about that. USUALLY, if you are just a few weeks along, a lapse in judgement before you knew you were pregnant won't effect the baby. I do have to be a mom and say to you though WHY are you drinking and taking vicodin at the same time. It's not safe for you. You could actually kill yourself doing that.

When I became pregnant with my first, I didn't know either and it was New years eve we had a big night out and I had way more than one drink that night. 2 weeks later I found out I was pregnant and my doctor said "not to worry that my baby would be fine. She said that I in the beginning stages of pregnancy when the embryo is just starting to develop and is not absorbing too much. It was still early she said and that the critical development had not begun, so one night mistake wouldn't hurt my child". It was a great relief. Talk to your doctor, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Now that you know you are pregnant it will be easier to take care of your body.

You and your baby will be fine. As long as it only happened once, and now that you know you're pregnant you can alter your behaviour. I drank and smoked pot one night in my first month before I found out, and my son is 2 1/2 and healthy :)
Don't beat yourself up over it... lots of women have done the same thing. The important thing is to make the remainder of your pregnancy as safe as you can for your baby by not smoking, drinking, or taking any un-approved medication.

Relax this actually happens to a lot of woman. In fact the first couple of weeks nothing is past between baby and mom so it usually doesn't effect the baby. What is important is that you know now and don't take anymore Vicodin. Recent studies have shown that the odd drink now and then isn't harmful to the baby, but of course it is best if you stay away from alcohol.

depends on how much you drank and how much you took, but talk to your doc about it, i went through the same thing when i found out i was pregnant, i had gone out a few times and had a few drinks before i found out i was pregnant, but my daughter is healthy, and as far as i know has suffered no complications, just make sure you don't drink anymore now that you know, and if you get sick make sure you check with your doc before taking any medication, even some over the counter meds, could have potential side effects on your baby

Yes. I had a few beers before I knew I was pregnant. Just don't do it again and you'll be ok. I think God takes stuff like this into consideration when letting us know we are pregnant. He lets us have our last brewhaha before we find out.

i think this would be something you should mention to your doctor. usually some drinking is ok (we haven't known that drinking can be harmful for babies for long). some doctors even say a little could almost be good for a pregnant woman. its only that we dont actually know the limit of what is safe and harmful so we usually dont drink at all. Vicodin I have no idea the consequences of that. I think it is just most important that your doctor is aware and can measure the individual circumstances.

Just don't make it a Habit. Remember years ago people had no idea what could cause birth defects. Moms smoked, drank and took drugs with little to no problems with the babies. Again DON'T make it a HABIT!!! and stay away from Crack and Heroin. You and your Baby should be fine.

I did the same thing. I was in Punta Cana the weekend before I found out & drank, did shots, & even took a big pain killer. It's fine. It happens to MOST women. Just watch your self from this point on.
