The best one to answer this is your OB. BUT I had shortness of breath for all three of mine - especially with the boys because they were long and big. I did get some relief when I laid down on a bed/couch/floor and put my hands behind my head. This allowed my diaphragm room so I could breathe easier.

As for the weight gain - if you are eating and not sick all the time and the baby is growing normally you are OK. With my first I gained 40 lbs, with #2 and #3 I had gestational diabetes and only gained 7lbs total with #2 and I was 5lbs LIGHTER than when I started with #3. I did keep asking the OB, but he said the babies were growing right on track. Take care.

I dont think that weight lack of weight gain is very good. I am 10 weeks but ive gained atleast 14 lbs already. I have had shortness of breath, tired feelings, and sleepless nights. But I have put on the pounds. it might be different for different people.

Talk to your ob about the weight issue that may need to be addressed by a doctor. I think by 23 weeks you should have gained atleast half of the 25 lbs recommended. But not always, some people due blossom overnight.

It sounds normal to me. I had shortness of breath and exhaustion that early. I also lost weight in my first trimester from morning sickness and didn't gain my weight until the end of my 2nd trimester. It was around the holidays!! As long as your OBGYN says your fine then I wouldn't worry.
