What makes you think that a gay couple who adopts is doing it for any other reason than the reason all people adopt children- to have the experience of raising a child, to create a family, to help a child, etc., etc.? I don't think they are trying to achieve or prove anything.

The same thing that straights want when they say they want to have or adopt children. They want to be parents. I think we should let gays adopt because there are so many orphans and foster children who need a loving, secure home.

Well, I'm fairly sure gays acheivements differ to each just like straight or bisexuals, and as for adoption, I think when they say they want to adopt a child, they want to adopt a freaking child because they kinda can't birth their own.

They are trying to prove that they are perfectly normal people, just like everyone else. And they are d@mn right. I may be straight, but I support gay rights causes 110%. When they say they want to get married or adopt children, it means they want to get married or adopt children, or both.

I assume it means that they want to be parents like the majority of the rest of the world. After all, not many things can beat being a mum or a dad. What do you think they are trying to achieve? World domination?

They are not trying to prove anything. When they say they want to adopt a child, they want a child. Nothing more, nothing less

What are you trying to say?
Are we incapable - No.
Will we love our children unconditionally - YES.
Will instill true value of life where you lack teaching - definitely.
We will probably be stronger parents because we fought for this and will carry on fighting for it and you can not stop this.
Racism was eventually stopped (not completely) and so will this.
We are human we have feelings and we look out for each other as do friends for friends and family for family.
We are survivors of nasty bullies like you...

They want to raise a family.
Just like infertile heterosexual couples, just like single males and females who adopt.
The only thing they're GOING to prove is that they can be perfectly responsible, loving, nurturing, caring parents...just like any other parent.
Oh, they might prove a lot of haters wrong in the process!
Look, studies have ALREADY been done, the evidence is already available. Same-sex couples are perfectly able to be competent, loving, nurturing, responsible, caring parents.
Children raised by same-sex parents are in NO greater risk of growing up to "become" gay. (since no one ever "becomes" gay...you are or your aren't.)
These kids grow up to be well adjusted, compassionate, honest, hard working, good citizens.
Try looking up REAL studies and not listening to opinionated, one sided BS by fundies!

Anybody who goes through the adoption process is obviously very deeply committed to having and raising a child, whether gay or not.
In fact I think it almost proves more desire to have a family. You certainly have to go through more in-depth checks, interviews etc, than anybody who just decides to get pregnant, or who becomes pregnant accidentally.
