Massage the baby's belly. It works. Also, grab the legs and bring them to the baby's chest . Do it slowly extending the legs , bringing them to the chest and holding them there for a couple of seconds. Do it until the baby releases gas several times ( maybe 15 sets will do the trick)

Some people think colic is from gas pains. This would be the mylicon and gripe water cure. Others think it is from stress and a way for them to express their frustration. I'm not sure I buy that. Anyway, my daughter cried everynight at 8pm for at least an hour and a half and this lasted weeks. I did a lot of research and found that you can try a lot of things, but in the end, if nothing seems to work, put him/her in the crib, turn the monitor to where you can just barely hear them, and do something else like the laundry, or read a book. Don't drive yourself crazy. They will grow out of it. Hang in there! I feel your pain.

After every oz or 2 burb the baby well. There are meds to help with colic, I had an old doctor that told me to put a peppermint in 2 oz of cool or cold water and shaking it. The peppermint makes the baby burp without meds. If it doesnt work then give the meds. Holding, rocking, pacifiers car rides dont get rid of stomach aches, stomach aches are caused by air in the babys tummy.

I can't offer you a cure, but I can offer support.
My (now 6 yr old) had it. I breast fed her and then put her on a bottle and nothing, helped. I rubbed her tommy, changed her bottle to one with a staw in it, (that helped) but no cure.
Still at 6 she has stomach issues. The doctor says it was because of stress when she was a baby. She was a premie and her father was abusive.
So I don't know if there is stress in your life that you baby can feel, if so, that might fix it. I wish I knew that when she was a baby I might have been able to help her.
My thoughts are with you. If you need someone to scream at, I will listen......

this would sound loopy yet I used this while my daughter became an toddler she went by a fussy time each night and that they thought it could have been a average case of colic I analyze some organic treatments and dealing a vacuum is meant to calm the fussiness it worked for my daughter we'd positioned the vacuum only exterior the doorway of the room we've been in and ran it and it looked as though it would calm her correct down i don't comprehend if this works on each baby yet something is extremely worth a attempt for the toddler's sake and on your sanity.

Sometimes colic is misdiagnosed. I would check to make sure your baby doesn't have reflux. Does your baby spit up a lot? If not, have the doctor check it out. Some babies with reflux swallow it before they actually spit it up making people believe they are crying for no reason, thus they think it is just plain old colic when in reality they are in pain. Have you ever had heart burn? Imagine a baby with it. I've had plenty of sleep deprived nights until the doctor figured out the reason for my one month old!
Also check out www.dunstanbaby.com about how to read your baby's cry. It totally helped me with my baby! It may sound funny, but works!

LadyLuck, I had the problem with two babies, and did almost EVERYTHING imaginable to try and cure it. I put one on soy, and that was a miracle, however now there are so many formulas out there that cater to sensitive babies that I think those should be tried before soy. I breastfed my second one, and she had issues with my breast milk, no matter what I did, for about 8 weeks. What I've learned is that they have to grow out of it, and that timeframe is different for each baby. I know that is a frustrating answer to get, and you are probably exhausted and at wits' end....I've been there...my prayers go out to you...

Mine always loved the bouncing on excercise ball, plus it was good exercise for me. I also often did stroller rides inside the house, back and forth, back and forth. Im guessing you read the "Happiest Baby ..." book too, although if you havent, it basically said to do all the stuff you said, at the same time. Although its a great read, and the Happiest Toddler too if you havent.

The only thing that helped my friends son was a sling. I guess he kinda felt like he was back in the womb? How much did you change your diet? You may think about an elimination diet... http://www.askdrsears.com/html/4/t041200.asp
But, your babe may just have a hard time adjusing... getting a sling will help soothe your babe and allow you to get some stuff done.

Did you try the Dr.brown's bottles, also try the burping after every few bites and gulps. Usually warm cloth on thebelly helps too.
Will read again
