it mostly took place in a kitchen and had a girl and boy monkey puppet with a real lady. I am going crazy trying to remember the name of it.

BUSTER AND ME has been shown on TV for around 25 years (since the late 70's). It was about a lady named Robin who adopted two chimpanzee siblings, Buster and Vanilla. Buster also had a best friend Russel the orangutan, and they were always getting into trouble!

Buster and Me
It was Buster, his sister Vanilla and their neighbor and Buster's best friend Russel. Robin was their owner/mother.
Used to love that show!
Buster was also the puppet that they used in Mrs. Doubtfire because the show just like the movie was based here in the SF/Bay Area.
