Just as the person said below about getting a good anti-virus program(s), I also suggest the cheap wimp's solution:
Hit Ctrl, Alt, & Delete. The list that comes us should show you all of the programs currently running on your computer. If a name looks unfamiliar, Search it on the web and learn about it. If you hit a result that screams, "VIRUS!!!" Then delete it. Then, close the list.
The next step is to go to your Start Menu and run a search for the name of the virus that you just started to remove. If anything else comes up, delete it. Lastly, go to your Recycle Bin. Whatever you've deleted will be stored here. Select the item(s) you wish to delete and delete away. If the computer is still running oddly, then get some programs. I've provided some good ones below:
Spybot Search & Destroy (best one i've ever used!!!)
Adaware (slow, but, works)

Purchase Norton Anti Virus Software and set it up to update and run a complete scan of your computer every night. Also keep it running all the time so if Norton has found a new virus and adds an update to protect you from this virus it will update your computer automatically. I feel that no one should have a computer that is not running some kind of a anti virus program on it. You can even get Norton System Works (cost more) but it has alot more features to protect you. Invest in it, it will pay for its self.

Get a good virus protection and tell it to to a complete scan. My teen's computer teacher recommended Norton.
