You just gotta get used to all the jealous morons out there. They all just wish that they had guys like Crosby, Malkin, Staal, and Fluery on there teams. Do any of them watch the games? Probally not, but they are still gonna bash Crosby and the Pens because they are whiny jealous little crybabies!
While we're on the subject, is it just me or is anyone else irritated by all the bandwagoner fans that jumped on the ship as soon as we got good? I think those people are just as bad as the people who hate us just because we got good!

I used to watch half of their team play live in Wilkes-Barre. I will admit they are an exciting team to watch because they are fast, young and lately hungry. However, I don't know how you can say they are special. Usually a team isn't considered special until it proves they are special or by winning multiple-championships. Now I am not saying that they will not win multiple championships, but I am not saying they will either. We have seen time and time again that a hot goalie can take any team out in a seven game series. Also, other teams like Washington that have had an abundance of high draft picks in recent years are going to eventually catch up in young talent and be very competitive with Pittsburgh. I have never been a fan of the Pens, but they do have talent. With the way the game is today with free agency and salary cap demands, nothing is set in stone.
I don't know what you mean by stupid ****. Why do you really care what people say? What they say is useless. All that matters is results. If your Pens hoist the cup this year you can laugh at all the neisayers. If not then mayber next year is their year. Don't let other fans of other teams bother you. Just be happy your teams future is looking bright.

Oh, come on now. Boo hoo hoo. You are totally overreacting, and you are obviously very biased. I suppose you never ever criticize other people or their teams. You have no least favorite team. You have no least favorite sport. You have no least favorite player.
Yeah. Right.
The truth is that most people HAVE seen the Pittsburgh Penguins this year LOTS of times. How can we avoid it? In case you did not notice, you have the best player in the league, and one of the top rookies. That means that the Penguins are on tv all over the freakin' place. So most hockey fans have seen them plenty. I know I have watched them play at least a dozen times this year, if not more. Pretty much every game they have played against Tampa, and every game they have been on Versus or NBC.
And the fact of the matter is that it is NOT just the people here who are "critical" of the Pens. They are young. They are inexperienced. They have average goaltending and defense. This is a fact. All the experts see it. All the NEUTRAL people see it. You are definitely not neutral.
And how often have YOU watched other teams in the league? Have you seen more than a game or two for Anaheim, Vancouver, Calgary, San Jose, Detroit, Dallas, or Nashville? How about Buffalo or New Jersey, when they weren't playing YOUR team. You know something? The fans of those teams think THEIR team is special, too. Pittsburgh is a good team. No doubt. But they do not have a monopoly on good. You are third in the league in scoring. Not bad, but not the best. You are 17th in the league in defense. Defense usually wins championships. A lot of the people here DO know what they are talking about.
So no one likes your team. So what? Don't be such a big baby. Maybe your team will win it all and you'll "prove" everyone wrong. Right now that hasn't happened. So get over it.

It is quite common to hate teams that have really great players. Especially if the team you like sucks at that point in time.
If you ever check out the Capitols message board you would laugh your azz off.
They transitioned from hating Maria Lemeiux to Cindy Crosby
very quickly. Guess having a team stomp you out of the playoffs every April will do that to a fan.
Don't focus on the folks drinking Hatorade, just enjoy your team and marvel at some of the best goals ever scored in the history of the NHL.
Only one team will carry the cup, all the others will fall short and be the subject of ridicule. Heck even the team that wins will be found undeserving by the fans of teams that they beat.

I watch them whenever I can, and always liked the team. I will be watching them tonight. I live in Western Canada so opportunities are rare. I would pick them over watching the maple laughs any day. They are more exciting to watch than most.
BUT they don't have what it takes to go all the way this year. I hope they make it past round 1, but won't bet on it. No playoff experience, no goal tending they can ride on. Good luck though, and if things keep going the way they are going, they will make a splash in the playoffs over the next couple of years.

Let's see...Teambuilding 101 penguin style.
Be the worst team in the league or close to it for 5 straight years. Pick can't miss prospects, all of them were no brainers.
2002: Ryan Whitney (5th overall)
2003: Marc-Andre Fleury (1st overall)
2004: Evgeni Malkin (2nd overall) **
2005: Sidney Crosby (1st overall)*
2006: Jordan Staal (2nd overall)
*Have the NHL rig the lottery for Mario (team owner, and NHL HOFer) so he can attempt to keep the team in Pittsburgh. Without that lottery pick the penguins would still be nothing. Gonchar wouldn't have gone there. No FAs would have gone there.
**Oh yeah, then steal Malkin who was under a legal contract from a Russian team. NHL supports it because they owe Mario and want to keep the team in Pittsburgh.
Pens fans will be whining in three years when they can't afford the 2nd contracts of all the above mentioned players...just in time for the new arena. Oh wait, the NHL will step in again, and help them out I'm sure.

I don't criticize them, infact i love watching Crosby, he's got a great offensive ability and can move the puck around the zone, not to mention all the outlets he has to get the puck too, and Jordan Staal has had an amazing year - and he had one pretty hat trick against the leafs :)

they are a good team right now , even though they started poorly .they got better and most other teams went downhill like toronto .montreal, carolna, etc and should win a round in the playoffs which would be a great accomplishment, sabres still are team to beat in the nhl when they have their whole team back soon. glad pitt is staying in pitt / crosby is fantastic talent
