Yes. Do not create or save any new files. Next, use any one of a number of free file recovery programs. Here is a short list:

1. Restoration (http://www3.telus.net/mikebike/RESTORATION.html)
2. Recuva (http://www.recuva.com/)
3. PC Inspector File Recovery (http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/welcome.htm)

Try Restoration first. It is the easiest of the 3 to use. If it should fail, try Recuva and then PC Inspector File Recovery.

The easiest way is to go to;

http://www.goitexpert.com/entry.cfm?entry=Recover-Deleted-Files-Easily-with-this-Free-Utility

And download the free utility. It has step by step instructions and screenshots on how to recover deleted files.

The software is free, no spyware or adware or viruses.

I would only suggest that you try to recover teh files sooner rather than later since the longer you use your computer the better chance you have of overwriting the deleted files making them unrecoverable.

search for undelete programs which will help locate deleted files in your drive. when you delete a file, it is not permanently deleted but the link to the file is, so it may be helpful if you could remember the filename or part of it and / or possibly the file format.

Google some popular undelete programs (Undelete is one of them) and try using one of those. Be careful, though, anything you save onto your hard drive will overwrite where those files were, including the undelete program itself. You should be able to recover some if not all of what you deleted.

All you have to do is go to system tools in the list of programs and go to system restore. Start by going to accessories, then system tools, then system restore. Tell it to go back to before you got rid of the files.
