First off the rate of death in pregnancy is so low. Now as far as blood loss goes just let the Drs handle it. They know what to do. As far as being born with out a out spot it runs in our family. It is called Cruzon. My Uncle, cousin and now my cousin's baby boy was born with it and needed surgery. They went to Boston's children's hospital & had a physician there. Although this is a hereditary disease it is not passed to every child and cannot be seen through ultrasound.
I am sure you will be fine and so will the baby and you are stressing too much about potential death to you or your child.
Congrats on your desire for pregnancy.

It sounds like you should go in to your OB/GYN for a Pre-conseption exam. This is a great place to make sure your body is ready for a pregnancy, and your doctor can answer any of your concerns.
In today's medical world, delivering a baby in a hospital setting is relatively safe. While it is not impossible to bleed to death after having the baby, it is very uncommon. You will be monitored very closely by your doctor and nurses and there are many things that can be done to save your life (and your baby's) if necessary.
Many thousands of woman deliver babies every day with no complications at all. Also, a baby delivered without a soft spot is something that can be medically corrected (as you know) Really there so many things that doctors can do to fix even the most extreme birth defects that you have a fantastic chance of having a normal, healthy pregnancy and delivery. Good luck to you!

Relax!!!! The odds of anything happening to you are so low that doctors don't even worry about it now. There are so many people there to watch you during labor, you can even get a doula to be there for the whole labor, and not leave the room! Things today are done so safely that there is hardly no chance of anything bad happening to you. Because you do have these fears, I would suggest giving birth in the hospital, not at home with a midwife. Then, if (heaven forbid!!) anything did happen, you are within seconds of having someone there to take care of it. Trust me, you are safer giving birth now then driving or riding in a car!!
The soft spot thing won't cause any problems with your labor or delivery. Don't even worry about that. By the time we are adults, our soft spot closes anyway. You will loose blood. That is normal. But there will be nurses and doctors there to make sure you don't loose too much. If that happens, it's really easy to fix, so don't worry!! You won't loose blood during pregnancy! Don't even worry about that. You will more then likely be a normal pregnant woman with normal pregnancy problems and a normal birth. Just keep saying to yourself that everything will be fine, and that your fears aren't real. Eventually, you will start to believe them. It may be good for you to speak with an OB before you get pregnant. They can discuss your fears and put to rest all your anxiety. Good luck to you!!

It is normal to be afraid of what might happen while you're pregnant or giving birth. I was really scared...mostly of the unknown. I didn't know what to expect at all so I just tried to get as much info as I could. Your fears can be discussed with your doctor (and possibly a counselor if necessary) before and throughout your pregnancy. Also you can meet with a genetic counselor to discuss/test for any genetic issues, and address your concerns about the odds your child will inherit anything or have any problems. I did.
If there are any concerns, most of the time measures can be taken to prevent danger to you or your baby. One of the most important measures you can take is to make sure you're healthy and take care of yourself well during pregnancy.

I had the same thought in my mind when I was pregnant..i was afraid I might die having a baby..but I saw how my doctor always kept an eye out on the baby and I. He made sure everything was in good health. So I stopped worrying about it and now look I have a 1 month old baby.
I think you should stop worrying about it..go to your doctor and talk to them about it more. It will help you out alot.

You need to talk to an expert, but it is very rare for someone to die while giving birth to a new person into this world. Plus even if you were the healthiest person in the world, you could still have problems, so get yourself checked out, and remember being a mother is one of the best things in the world.

You should see your OB/GYN and discuss this with them. The chances of anyone dieing giving birth is slim. You also need to see a physiologist because if your worried about having a child and your not even pregnant is kinda strange. Worrying while your pregnant isn't good a baby so get help before proceeding.

Dieing while giving birth these days is quite rare. My sister just had a baby on Friday and she delivered naturally. There was a substantial amount of blood but that's normal. Just take care of yourself and eat healthy and you will be giving your baby all he/she needs. Don't stress out about it b/c the technology they have today is amazing. Just relax and enjoy your little bundle of joy!!

Future husband? make him marry u first...single motherhood sucks! um, I was born without a soft spot..a perfect beachball head, but my son had an almost tube shaped head (swear to god) when he came out and he is normal now :). you're a mama that will need equipment for ur pregnancy when you worry-like a home sonogram thing or at least a good quality stethascope for home use. see a shrink...you might have more causes than you disclosed here...
