Hugely significant, just as they are for adults!! Emotions and feelings and thoughts impinge on every aspect of our lives, and are more invasive for children as they have not yet developed the maturity and understanding to deal with the intensity of some of these. In children also, they can shape the way they will think, feel and behave for the long term, the imprints made by emotions (as with other things) remain forever!

very! while they may not seem like a big deal to us, to them its their whole world! Nothing a kid says should be brushed aside. It is real for them so we need to aknowledge it, we may be able to change their feelings and alleviate their fears but we MUST aknowledge them 1st. I would hate to think my childs fears, thoughts and emotions were just pushed aside. this is how they learn, by our reactions and explanations.
