I went without a period for 1 1/2 years being only 20 this was not normal for me. My periods have always been irregular and ranged from 1-4 months or so but this was by far NOT NORMAL..So i went to my doctors she tested my prolactin levels, thyroid( found that i had a slight hyperthyroid but not enough for treatment) liver/ kidney function, LH and FSH levels ect and everything was in the normal range if not in perfect working conditions, so she tried progesterone challenge on me 10mg for 7 days to see if it would induce my period and it did, so then she suggested i use a natural progesterone cream for 10 days starting from day 14 of my cycle well I had too regular periods since using the cream, but I am now 1 week late on my period and experiencing slight tender breasts, light cramping here and their, had some very light light brown spotting for about 2 days when my period should have came but that us about it..

Well I haven't personally gone through that but, all it takes is one month of ovulation for you to get pregnant.

Spotting, and mild cramping can be an indication of implantation bleeding, a common pregnancy symptom. Implantation bleeding is usually very light, spotty and its sporadic. It often occurs around the time a lady is due her period, and it lasts about 2-3 days. Its often associated with mild "period like pains."

So, there is a possibility that this is a pregnancy related issue. You could most certainly call your doctor. Even if you do test yourself, your doctor can test your blood by doing an HCG blood test. This is conclusive in diagnosing pregnancy, even if its extremely early. And if the test does come out to be negative, then your doctor can evaluate your symptoms to determine why you are spotting.

Good Luck~
