Here are my specs:
My last period was on either Feb. 6th or 15th. (This is the first problem I can't remember when I had the thing)

On March 6th I went to my doctor and got a blood test done. It came back on March 7th Negative.

Yesterday, March 18th I got a positive pregnancy home urine test. Again a Positive this morning.

I read that blood tests can be so accurate they can tell at the moment of conception.

I am terrified, I just had a miscarriage on Sept.11,2006. This is my first time getting pregnant since.

Someone help me, Could it have been too early for the blood test, Why didn't the doctor tell me there could still be a chance of pregnancy, and Am I pregnant now?

Yes it could have been too early if your period was on the 15th. DON'T STRESS IT..... That is not good for you. Now that you have a positive HPT go to the Dr again now and have him do another test - telling him/her about the latest HPT results.
I would say that you sound pregnant to me... good luck and again - try not to stress that you miscarried before. Just because you have once it doesn’t mean that you will ever again. - talking from personal exp there...

How early can blood test detect pregnancy?
Blood tests can detect a pregnancy earlier than a home pregnancy test. They can detect it about 7-12 days from possible conception and can also measure the concentration of human chorionic gonadotropin hormone in your blood.

If your period started on the 15th then conception would have happened about March 1st (based on 28 day periods)
So a blood test would not be able to detect it until between the 8th - the 13th. - So going on the 6th you were too early. You would only be 4 weeks 4 days as of today - if you are pregnant. SO if you are pregnant you will probably be due some time around Nov 22nd.

Go get another blood test -
And Let us all know how it goes ! !
Good Luck to you

Blood tests are accurate ONLY once the egg has implanted. Which is 10 days after conception. So... you probably got it too soon. The doctor probably didn't tell you there could still be a chance because he didn't want to get your hopes up. If you got 2 positive HPT then I say you are pregnant. Call the doctor and ask for a blood test to confirm. Good luck

I would go back and have another blood test done...Yes they are pretty accurate but it could just have been too early or you werent pregnant yet and conceived at a later date...If you are getting a positive on a HPT I would definitely assume you are pregnant and have another blood test run...Good Luck!

You took the blood test too early. They can be wrong just like HPT's if you take them too early. I think you are pregnant and should get another blood test. It will be extremely accurate now.

Go by your pee test, it was probably too early during your blood test, although blood test can tell earlier it's obviously testing yourblood, and to be able to pick up hcg it has to be in your blood, sometimes it takes a while to have enough hcg to be detected in the blood, but quicker than the urine. Since you took the pee test after your blood test, and more than one was pos, then you're pregnant. Congrats and call the dr to make an app, and tell him/her she/he was wrong!lol

There are rarely any false positives. You are pregnant.

There can be false negatives. Go get another blood test.
