Is there a matrix to show how each benefit is linked to each other (e.g. incapacity benefits, jobseekers allowance etc)? For some people, if you qualify for one benefit you may not claim another, but it is difficult to assess how they relate to each other because there are so many! I've tried looking on the Department of Work and Pensions website but it doesn't really explain how each benefit affect each other.

I'm not sure if what you seek exists, but for a more customer-orientated view of benefits, look on the adviceguide website. I think this is why benefits advisers working for the likes of the CAB undergo such long training.

I understand your confusion.

There are leaflets that explain this so ring the DW&P, ask for the relevant paperwork and you will have the answer at your fingertips. Good Luck.
