professional position of Activity Coordinator at an Independent Living Seniors Rental Apt. (2). Two women who always complain (and nobody there likes) did not like my policy on one thing, both gave me the cold shoulder and complained to the Presdent. The man who was elected as President of the Residents' Council wanted the job but he was overseas at the time it was offered. This was done purposely by the General Manager because she despised him because of his deceptfulness and dishonesty. He continually gave me a hard time, redundant work to do even though it was not his place and always complained to the Board of Directors (with whom he was tight) and who were never around to see my work. My General Manager always told the Board of Dir. that I was learning and doing well, however, they fired her with a lame excuse. Less than 3 wks later El Presidente conspired with the two female complainers to lie to the Board of Dir. to tell them that I was not doing my job well. I was doing well.

Can you substantiate your claim that you were doing your job well? Can you substantiate everything you said about everybody else?

Without it, it will be your word against theirs. If you were to take this further, it really doesn't matter how you feel. It matters if you can convince others you what you are saying is accurate.

Good luck.

You should be grateful you're unemployed so you can start writing for the novellas....this is WAY too much info.

To claim wrongful term you must have been discriminated against for age, gender, religion, race, etc., or have been retaliated against for making a legitimate complaint about the company (such as getting fired for reporting a safety violation to OSHA.)

Not getting along with the president/BoD, or with other women who work there, or the politics between the GM and the President, don't have anything to do with wrongful termination.

Most companies have an "at will' policy which states that you can be terminated at any time, for any reason. You may not agree with their approach but from your description it appears they were within their rights to end your employment.

File for unemployment so that you can continue receiving compensation and find another job. Sometimes the hassle of deceitful people is not worth it.

If you can prove what you are saying? You might have a chance, if not? You are S.O.L. I don't understand why you would want a job with that much drama going on back anyway.
