When you browse the Internet all your Internet tracks are recorded on your computer. All your Internet activities, like the places you have visited, are logged into index.dat files and can be read by anyone. Probably you can't find index.dat file because it is hidden by default. Even if you try to delete cache and cookies manually they are still existing in the index.dat file. So there is a new goal- to clean the index.dat file, where all the information is remaining.
You can clean all this with one single software:
PC Mesh Internet Cleanup
www.pcmesh.com
I have been using their software for several years and have been very satisfied with them. You can try it for free before you buy.

cookies are temporary files that hackers and viruses can get through if u dont clear them. Either do a disk cleanup or here is what i do
start/run/(type in cookies) then hit run/Select all of the files except for the index and delete them to recycle bin/ then go to recycle bin and delete them from there/ by right clicking it and go to remove from recycle bin
oh and forgot about cache/ basically cache is jsut the storage of files on your computer
hope it helped

Cookies are typically sent to you whenever you access a website. If you want to get rid of the cookies and temporary files, go to start, control panel, and internet options, where you'll find where to clear them. Be forewarned that it may slow your computer down to do this temporarily.
