Phones do not come with the pre-paid package. You will need to get your phone unlocked if you are planning to go to a different carrier. You can do this by calling the wireless provider of the phone and hopefully they can tell you or you can go to a store that carries all cell phones and they can help you. You can use any regular phone (except for Verizon for another company since they use a different system - I am not sure who else does since I do not have the wireless provider of your phone).

You will need to purchase a new phone for your new plan unless your current phone is from the same provider or is "unlocked."

You most likely have to purchase the phone on the pre-paid plan.
