Auto Zone does not charge for that service. If its a check engine light and not an oil light or temperture light it should be fine to drive.
It probably had the light code before you bought it and it took a few miles or driving cycles to cause it to reset.

This seems to be a problem with Ford Windstars. I have the same problem. I used to go to Autozone to have them turn off the light, but then I found out that I could just disconnect the battery cables, and that would reset the sensor. Now, about twice a year, I have to disonnect the battery and reconnect it to make the light go off.

all of them have their flaws. Ford went to overhead cam vehicles and chevy nevertheless has pushrod vehicles and that i think of is the only motor corporation that keeps to be using a pushrod motor. Overhead cam vehicles have much less friction by way of three much less shifting aspects than a push rod vehicles liberating up some horse ability. however the old chevy push rod vehicles nevertheless carry their very own. i think of all the hot physique kinds are stupid Ford and Chevy. they are of course no longer designed the get good air bypass down the line. they are extra equivalent to sq. containers. i think of the main suitable ford layout became the ninety 8 physique form it became maximum airodynamic. i like the 88-ninety 8 chevy physique form and the subsequent form after that . Im not sure while the subsequent form ended nevertheless. circumvent and Toyota have the main suitable looking bodies on the line splendid now. in case you prefer a genuine truck at the instant you extra appropriate purely bypass with a Tundra

you definitely want to get the light diagnosed. It may be something as simple as a loose gas cap, but if you have a sensor failing you could be doing damage to the catalytic converter or other systems by driving it long term that way.
