I was wondering, if we were to live in space (not on a planet) what materials would we need to make houses? What would we need to live? Does anyone know a interesting site about Housing in Outer Space.

Try reading "The High Frontier" by Gerard K. O'Neill. It was published in the 70s, but it's still worth reading. Or there's this - http://www.space-frontier.org/

For the most part, with minimal shielding, you will be safe from background radiation, however at times of intense solar activity, you wold require a heavily shielded area most likely a lead lined area shrouded in a water jacket.

what you are looking for must be something like space station. it is mostly plastic and metals. but still you will be dependent on a larger source for the most of things.
