That's business. Unless you're the only employee there, business has to continue. If you make it habit of calling off, they probably took precautionary measures to ensure coverage. While it's unfair, that's the tone of that type of job.I worked at a video store right out of high school and worked a shift schedule where I literally had to call in each Monday to find when I worked next. In most customer service jobs, you have no rights. But then again, the need to perform customer service is always there with that type of job. You're in a no win situation.

During those days you call off sick or just call off to bs, use that time to get your stuff in order to find a better job. I take off work all the time, for no real reason. But I have a job where I accrue leave and do not lose money. The penalty I face is going in the next day and having a mountain of things to do. You have to know your situation and work it. Do something productive so that your time isn't being wasted. But while you're working fast food, you might as well prepare yourself for unfair treatment with no one to complain to about it- unless the treatment is abusive.

Well if they can tell that you hate the job and don't care about it then I really wouldn' t be too upset about it. They want people on the schedule that are ready and willing to work. But if it was only for the reason that you called in sick (were you really sick?) and they don't know that you hate the job then that is wrong to take you off for an entire week.

It sounds like someone snitched on you if you weren't really sick. If this is a constant problem, you calling in or being late this is bound to happen. Sorry to say it. I would talk to your manager.....but, I'm guessing you are going to say he/she hates you. Find another job. Food industry is always hiring.

Yeah, bills do have to be paid. Why did you call in? Your question makes no sense.

Are you sure they didn't fire you? I would be pissed off if it happened to me so if they didn't fire me I would be after I got through cussing them out!
