First I would like to clarify some misinformation given here in starting with the post from the TOP contributor, which I would like to suggest as a TC they should have the 100% RIGHT info before posting because others see them & expect them to be giving correct info.

AVON does not provide their reps with a website, they offer the opportunity to pay for usage of a co-branded website. AVON does NOT allow the building of one's own website for AVON promotion other then the co-branded site offered by AVON to protect their image with uniformity.

And AVON is not about parties if you aren't into "that", & you do NOT have to work weekends, or all these hours suggested by another poster. AVON is all about YOU! Having a small child makes your time challenges difficult & that is exactly why AVON is perfect for the SAHM, they can work their AVON, around the needs of the child. You can do follow-up calls during nap time, work your business cultivating clients while taking your child for a treat of lunch at McDonald's, network with other mothers in your playgroup. While your child is still small you do not NEED to go out of your way or spend a whole lot of time if you don't want to, & you can still make a nice little income every month that you would not otherwise have.

I have FOUR children, ages 14-4, & I joined AVON 6 years ago & have grown my business through it all AND the birth of my littlest one. All the particular info about the opportunity is to follow. What I can tell you is, #1 you WILL get out of this opportunity what you put into it, & if you want to make it BIG with AVON, you CAN. For some people that extra income is just enough & for others they want a real career out of AVON & what most people don't realize is you can have that too. #2 for only $10, the cost of lunch, you really don't have much to loose. Try it, & decide for yourself :) Good luck with whatever you do!

The AVON Opportunity!

When you join as an AVON rep you are paid solely on commission according to the amount of product you sell every 2 weeks. When you start, you are guaranteed 50% commission on your sales (all core products, 20% on AVON giftables, apparrel, & some jewelry) for the first 2 months as long as you place your order online.

After this time you earn 20% minimum with a $25 order, & up to 50% with a $1550 order, or anywhere in between 30%, 40%, 45%. You are given an intial credit limit, so when you place your first order, you do not have to pay up front, rather it is shipped to you on that credit.

You then deliver the orders, collect the money if you haven't done so already, & at this point you have your money (earnings) in hand & the money you owe AVON for the products you have received. You pay AVON the amount they invoice you, (they break down the earnings percentage for you), the amount you have left is your earnings.

There are NO quotas, NO minimums ever. If you decide the AVON opportunity is not right for you at anytime, as long as your account balance is paid to a zero balance, your account automatically closes once you have not placed an order for 4-6 weeks.

There IS money to be made with AVON sales & AVON leadership, which is another opportunity AVON offers; you build a downline (recruiting, helping others start their own AVON businesses) of which AVON pays you a seperate income & this is where the REAL money is at for the long term! Your profit from your teams sales will be anywhere from 5-12% on top of your own personal sales.

You can also conduct business online as an e-rep & have your own AVON branded website to service clients & the orders come directly to you.

If you would like more information from someone in your local area or would like an appointment to start, you click on the OPPORTUNITY button at my website & submit your information securely & confidentially. It is only $10 to join which gets you all your starting materials/brochures for the first month. Currently AVON is also offering bonus cash & incentives & there really is NO better time then to become part of a company 120 years STRONG then now.

It really depends on your needs. Do you like Avon yourself? I would never be able to sell something I didn't believe in. How much tome and energy will you need to put in for what % of return? Clientele? is there a market in your area?
My Mary Kay Director sold Avon for years and was not successful with Mary Kay she quit her full time Job and replaced her salary working part time with Mary Kay. Ask lots of questions and get the facts. Obviously some people love it an do well that's why we have so many choices. Good Luck

Keep in mind that Avon and Tupperware and all that are not just working from home. You have to go to a lot of parties, talk to people, drum up business, get contacts and referrals. A lot of your evenings and weekends will get tied up.

I know some women who do quite well with these, but it is still a lot of work, and still a lot of time not at home.

The only truly "work from home" type jobs are babysitting, writing, online business, etc.

I have 2 children, I understand your situation. I have a degree in business and researched Avon a long time ago. I wasn't that thrilled with the products or compensation. I recently decided on Arbonne. I can share with you what I do. I absolutely love the products and business opportunity. I was able to start my business for only $29. As a consultant, you can either make 35% off of retail sales (at the time of the sale) or a percentage off of wholesale orders (percentage increases with different levels of management). The more wholesale buyers and business builders you sponsor, the bigger your residual check will be.

Arbonne has over 400 consumable, proprietary products made with exceptionally high EUROPEAN STANDARDS of quality. Our products are in 6 key consumer markets including skin care, body care, weight loss, nutrition, aromatherapy, and cosmetics. People are really starting to take better care of themselves. They want to live longer and have healthier lives so the health and wellness industry is a great place to be. Our products are result oriented and people love them!

All of their products are formulated in Switzerland and made in the US so they're unlike any others on the market. They're made with natural botanicals, pure, safe, beneficial, hypoallergenic, pH correct, dermatologist tested, and formulated without alcohol, wax, dyes, chemicals, fragrances, acetone, and mineral oil. The products are revolutionary and result oriented. People love them and Arbonne is booming with over 111% growth every year since 2002 with 164% growth in 2005 over 2004. We more then surpassed that half way through 2006.

Arbonne is stable with over 27 years experience and a leader is the industry, debt free with a low start up cost of $29, no inventory, no sales requirements, no territory to limit growth, free online ordering and toll free ordering with direct shipping to consumers, free online training, committed leadership, Mercedes Benz car program, and the most generous compensation plan in the industry. Here are the AVERAGE monthly commissions for Arbonne consultants.

District Manager - $291.67/month

Area Manager - $1,551.35/month

Regional Vice President - $6,773.33/month + $800 Mercedes Benz cash bonus

National Vice President - $31,348.09/month + $1,000 Mercedes Benz cash bonus

We build relationships, share premium proprietary products and offer an opportunity for others to not only look and feel great about themselves, but also to change their lives. If you're interested in learning more, I'll be happy to help you.

Avon is a good company to work for. My sister-in-law started working with them a few months ago. They will give a website/online store that you can send buyers to. Its not bad, but you should setup your own site in addition to theirs. Get your own domain name. Its cheaper than you think. Here is a guide to getting started: http://www.richkahmer.com/build-a-website.html

Avon is good but its not consistant, you have to keep selling in order to make money. With our company, all you have to do is sell it once and get paid for it forever. Take a look
