Any fever-puking-wheezing (asthma)they stay home. If their nose is jam packed, they stay home, because how can you really concentrate feeling that way? If it's a cold/sniffles/cough I play it by ear-if they seem as if a day on the couch would fix 'em up, then that's what they get--if we can go with a dose of tylenol cold and send 'em off to school, that's what we do.

Doesn't exist you just have to trust them and hug 'em...I am answering this from a daughter's point of view.
Were I to answer it as a teacher, there are ways, like saying I just called the Doctor and he said you need a shot...or if I answered it as a Lawyer boy would I have a complete questionnaire for them to see if they are telling the truth and not contradicting themselves.

But I'd rather answer it as a lioness...cubs stay at the den, they help with the hunt, and spring cleaning.

My test used to be if they had a magic recovery after the school bus left. It they did, I would drive them to school and get them there before the first bell!

On the serious side. If their eyes looked glassy and they had fevers, rash, or pink eye, they stayed home!
