What is the safest part in florida to live in to avoid a hurricane katrina like thing.

good luck , when a storm that size hits there is no really safe place, just leaving is the safest, like everyone does or should, all that leave come back to pick up the peaces and move on with life

I dont think any where is safe. I live in upstate NY. You could not pay me to live in Florida. All we have is snow and ice and you can live ok here. Just stay in and be warm. If the electricity goes out, we build a tent in the living room and live in it. The warmth from everyone will keep you warm. We had to do that when we get ice storms. Good luck if you go there. Any where just move some place else whenever the news tells your that a hurricane is coming your area.
