every so often my computer keeps flashing 'dial up connection box' and stops me going forward or then keeps working ' off line' its doing my sweed in..please help you kind computer people..oh surprise surprise it has stopped for a little while then it will be back.

Download and run Spybot search and destroy, and Adaware update and run them both.
Sounds like you are Infected with a Dialer.

If it just that the dialup connection wants to connect when you do not, you can go to the control panel and then to Internet Options, and on the connections tab, check the button to "Never dial a connection" and you are all set.

I'm not a computer person, but try checking your phone connection. someone kicked mine and broke a bit off. i am waiting for bt to fix it but managed to keep it going by ramming a bit of plastic in to keep it the wire in place. any technical stuff i cant help you with but someone on here will. glad to know I'm not the only one who wants to kill my pc at times

I would say just try to get windows vista or some other new computer and get broadband........ or just punch it.
