There was a player I belive his name was Craig Mctavish, who was on the St. Louis Blues. I have a $100.00 bet with a friend of mine that he was the last player to not wear a helmet on the ice. When the new helmet rule came into effect he was able to still play with out a helmet because the rule only went back for players who started to play a couple years back.

Craig Mctavish played for quiet a few different teams. He played for: Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, St. Louis Blues

He is currently the coach for the Edmonton Oilers

MacTavish with the Rangers is the last player I remember.

it was craig mctavish, but not of the edmonton oilers, he is the coach of the oilers, but i dont believe he played for them
