whenever I close an additional window(i.e. checking aol mail brings up "pop up" screen), my ie7 closes, saying Internet explorer has caused an error and needs to close. what could be causing this? any help would be greatly appreciated.

don't use ie
use mozilla firefox
it almost never crashes

First, you need to check if you are using the latest version of Internet Explorer 7. You want to use the final version and not the beta versions. Go to Microsoft's download site (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx) to download the latest version.

You can try re installing IE 7. In all likelihood, there is some software incompatiblity on your computer. In almost all cases, it is impossible to track down the offending incompatibility. In which case, you are forced to return to IE 6 or use another web browser. You can try Maxthon, an IE 7 clone which offers many features absent in IE 7. In addition, Maxthon is based on IE; so, the look and feel of Maxthon is almost identical to IE 7. The link is (http://www.maxthon.com/). And, of course, Firefox is an excellent alternative as well.

mate use fire fox Not IE is crap fire fox is fast and safer then IE and its free
