I think the vouchers are limited in amount, which causes another problem: the vouchers help middle-class people towards paying tuition, but don't help poor people who have NO funds of their own to add.

At least that's what's been said.

Actually public schools have tuition costs (what they spend per pupil per year) and so there are many private schools that are the same price.

What needs to be ascertained is the quality of education. Some private schools are excellent, but some are worse. It's about really choosing a school that works for your child and your values system.

No. because of the undeniable fact that could want to easily inspire the exodus of qualified instructors, in contact dad and mom and dedicated scholars out of the prevalent public college equipment...Vouchers are basically yet another ability by ability of which persons can steer away from a center problem and insist the authorities pay the tab. the prevalent public college equipment in my section is a shame. nevertheless, that's my duty as a citizen to make contributions to public preparation. So instead, I stay lively in community affairs. i myself attend college board conferences and easily call for action from those paid off our taxes. that's our duty as electorate to carry our authorities accountable...and also you do not do this by ability of sitting at homestead and complaining. that's the authorities's duty to fix what's broken, no longer pay us for our silence.

No it would make schools compete for the money by basically making all schools private.....parents would send the kids to the better schools...schools would compete for better teachers to ensure a higher enrollment

Failing academic schools would fail and close
Schools that gave a good education for the money would grow and prosper....that is the way it should be...

There is a reason parents send their kids to private school, if we open the door for the people who would get the vouchers, where has the status of PRIVATE school gone.

my understanding is the amount will be the same. if you go to an expensive school, you pay the difference. but to the parents that want to send their children to private schools, I think they should have their tax dollars to do so. And those schools must fit in with the same agenda as other schools. I believe that homeschoolers get vouchers.

Which is why public schools would still be an option. You could either give your voucher to a public or private school.

Bingo, tangerine! You just got it. Why aren't we beefing up the public schools and paying teachers better with public money rather than supporting what in essence are private schools?

Absolutely! It's a way out of trying to fix the public school system. I don't get it- there are so many intelligent people in the U.S. but noone can figure out how to save the public schools...

That's because its private. Students already have a free and public education. And in certain cases they can get a "voucher" for a private school. Thanks to Bush's education bills.
