Geothermal energy is used here in the U.S. It simply has a high capital (first) cost, so it is not used very often. It is sometimes used in the form of something called a Ground Source Heat Pump.

I stay in Finland yet I freaking LOVE Sweden and Denmark! i'm a Finland-Swede yet i think more advantageous Swedish because they are so a lot more advantageous open and thrilling! and do not even get me all started with the Danes. So quite effective and powerful! yet I do like my homecountry too, each of the Nordic international locations are very suitable :)

We have extremely limited geothermal sources, like geysers or hot springs
iceland, however, has a shitload
but it is a great enegy source, should be used if we have access to it
