Is it true you can collect unemployment in Florida if you were fired (for something such as attendance)? I cannot find anything online about the guidelines.

Does say you have to be unemployed thru no fault of your own and that traditionally is the case. Fired for attendance usually doesn't get unemployment unless there are other issues to base an appeal on and on the odd occasion the employer chooses not to fight the claim

Says it can be denied for an act showing deliberate disregard for an employers interests including breaking of company policy.

Good luck

This is an At Will state - except for minority or sexual misconduct you are as the lady said toast. They can you in multiple ways. For anyone who thinks this is a good idea and Unions are bad they should think and think hard if they really can at what this means to them and theirs. Up front - low minimum wages, flex employment meaning do what you are told when to do it, minimum weekly work hours, reduced or high cost benefits, limited to no retirement and on and on and on. yes Florida - some call it the Sunshine State, that is they with money and vacation folk, but all I can say is by experience the SIN STATE - rule by OLIGARCHY!

if the employer can show that you where fired for missing days
in excessive amounts your not going to stand a chance of getting
unemployment , i hate to be the one with the bad news sorry

but the employer only has to show \that you will fully violated company policy , and your toast . now a days about the only time you can get unemployment from termination if it was due to incompetence

No you can't. If you were fired for cause (breaking company policy, not coming to work, etc..) you cannot collect unemployment. You can go ahead a apply and tell them they laid you off. Maybe you'll get lucky and your employer won't fight it but you don't automatically qualify for it. If they do start paying and your employer demands a hearing to fight it and you lose you have to pay it back.
