Are you the first born, only girl or only child? I am the oldest of 2 girls and was not allowed to do so many things that my friends could do. My younger sister however could do SO much more- here's my suggestion. If your mom is reasonable, why not suggest that you have a cell phone. You should pay for it though- to show your desire to prove that you're responsible. You can get them so cheap nowadays and really all you need is something simple and you can tell her that that's HER link to you. If you go somewhere that way she can always get ahold of you. You can keep her up on what's going on per hour or whatever and basically and hopefully she will start to become more relaxed wtih having you away but being able to get ahold of you. Maybe this will help?
What about taking her out to eat- treating her and talking to her about it.

Basically addressing it in a grown up way will help your cause. If you come to her complaining, that won't help. And while it might work if you say you want to talk, perhaps planning an event together- a girls day or something that you treat her to, will make her understand that you are grown up and can handle yourself. You ARE 17 years old. You're essentially "legal" next year and going off to college (?) soon as well. Maybe she's waiting for you to help her to the next stage of letting go!

Good luck. Just don't push it. The more understanding and mature you are, the better luck you'll have in getting what you want.

Have you done something wrong in the past to make her not trust you ? How about having your friends over for a barbeque or party , so your mom can really get to know them. Explain to her that you really want her to trust you and your friends, and you would love it if she got to know them. A little sucking up has never hurt. Good Luck . My mom was the same way, and happy to say, she kept me out of a lot of trouble, I just never would of admitted it to her then, which was 18 years ago, she and I are best friends now.

Your mom just worrys about you. Many years from now you will thank your mom for what she has done. Talk to her tell her to please let you go out and that to trust you. But I understand your mother she probably trusts you but she doesn't trust your friends.

tell your mom that you love but what is the big deal about hanging out with you friends. You just tell her how you feel.

Hey, be glad that you have someone to worry over you like that. I know it seems annoying now, but you will thank her in the long run.
