Hi!

I know a few people who cant tell the difference between frogs & toads when really it's pretty easy, the frog is more colourful & can jump alot further, they hop about alot more than toads, toads do hop but they tend to crawl too, the toad seems old like ..with bumpy skin(some call warts), the toads around here are always a dark colour, like dark brown, when the frog is a nicer colour like green & is more energetic with strong back legs, they can both swim but the frog spends more time in the water.Frogs tend to lay eggs in clusters & the toad tend to lay eggs in long chains.
hope this has helped : )

A toad is a creature simular to a toad but it has drier skin and actually spends less time in the water than frogs, preferring the dry land much more.

Besides, if you kiss a frog, it might just turn into your prince. On the other hand, if you kiss a toad, you'll only get warts. You'll never know unless you watch their behavior closely.

Frogs have the characteristics of:

two bulging eyes
strong, long, webbed hind feet that are adapted for leaping and swimming
smooth or slimy skin (generally, frogs tend to like moister environments)
Frogs tend to lay eggs in clusters.

Types of frogs have are characterized by:

stubby bodies with short hind legs (for walking instead of hopping)
warty and dry skin (usually preferring dryer climates)
paratoid (or poison) glands behind the eyes
The chest cartilage of toads is different also.
Toads tend to lay eggs in long chains. (There are some toads (genera Nectophrynoides), however, that are the only types of anurans to bear live young!)

A Frog is usually green and life like. A toad looks more like a living blob of oatmeal.
