Simply visit YouTube, and copy the address of the video you wish to download, then visit the http://www.youtubex.com/ site, paste the address then right click and save.
The videos are downloaded as FLV (Flash) files, so you'll need Macromedia Flash Player to view them, if you haven't got it already.

if you reallly want to download the movie file first have a mozilla browser... then install the "UNPLUG" extension.
just follow instructions on how to use unplug..
take note that the files you download are in .FLV format and you still need to convert them to mpeg or avi format..
i use geovid flash to video converter to do this...
