Football...trust me, I've never seen a cross country runner come home with bruises from head to toe, sore from working out, and get up the next morning and do it all over again.

Cross country skiing is probably harder work, but it takes guts to play a contact sport like U.S. football. It's apples and oranges at the end of the day.

I'd say Cross Country. It takes a heck of a lot of discipline, willpower, mental strength, and energy - not to mention a lot of time in the gym. It is also a heck of a lot more socially stimulating.

Not to mention, athletes who engage in cross country are not the ones you usually see drowning their sorrows in a bottle of steroids. They know how to win without being a bunch of pansies.

Any idiot with muscles and an idea of where to throw a ball can play football. I mean, if you have no brains, why worry about getting them knocked around? Now, bag my groceries, Mr. Jock.

Oh, and by the way... I don't know why anyone would think that cross-country is bruise free. It is anything but!

U.S. Football because Cross Country is for fruit cakes! Sure, Cross Country is more physically demanding, but the people that it attracts are the biggest douchebags that you will ever find.
