La Raza supports legislation such as the Civil Liberties Restoration Act, which would roll back policies adopted after Sept. 11 designed to protect national security. It supports the "DREAM Act," which would mandate states to offer in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens – thus providing them with benefits not available to U.S. citizens from other states.
The group opposes the "Clear Law Enforcement for Criminal Alien Removal Act of 2003" and the "Homeland Security Enhancement Act" would give state and local police officers the authority to enforce federal immigration laws.
The group also supports legislation to ensure illegal immigrants' ability to obtain driver's licenses.
I think it is very inappropriate for him to continue his membership, and association with this controversial group. La Raza`s open support and association with other racists radical "take over the southwest " groups is a huge problem for me .
He should ethically distance his self from "The Race".

who're he attempting to fool???? He won't be able to even look after his own, how can he communicate about infant welfare at the same time as he couldn't carry out the biggest undemanding parenting position. nicely apparently like our American human beings were sucked in (or probably "compelled" in) i ask your self what has been promised now on behalf of the British human beings to set Gerry McCann up over there. I recommend what tricks has be up his sleeve this time. some thing about him would not wonder me anymore. he's a con guy to the very very last bone.

no it's not appropriate for the us attorney to be associated with the racist group la raza. i also read where the idiot la raza said" they are happy bush put him in. the reason bush put him in is because they was going to start using the race card. in any company you have to hire a minority, if you don't you can get into trouble. that's the only reason he got the job, not because he has brains. it's because he's a minority.

I think his political support and affiliations are irrelevant unless they hamper his ability to do the job.
If you start down this slope, then people who have been (or are) members of organizations such as PETA could never serve---even after they terminate affiliation (as PETA has condoned terrorist acts). We currently have Senator Byrd (Dem) in office who was a prominent member of the KKK and we've all known for years. Nobody cares. Why? Is it simply because he's a democrat or is it because he does his job and brings plenty of pork to his state while strongly supporting his party line?
