Hi everyone

I have this guy at work, who is based in another office..he is in London, we are based in Birmingham, because he has been there for 3 years and we have been here for 2 months, he called us to say that he was the supervisor.

The managing Director said that he is not the supervisor,
another sales director has said that he is not a supervisor either

I told this 'supervisor' that until I see his new contract with the job title SUPERVISOR on the top then he can tell me what to do.

What do you think, you have to get a new contract if your job title changes dont you?

I don't think you *have* to get a new contract if your job title changes (although most people probably would), because I moved positions at work at didn't get one, but then I didn't ask for one either. Mind you, I probably should because it says that my line manager is someone who left the company four months ago.

However, I fully understand your concerns about this guy!!! Sounds like a bit of a freak!

Check your own contract - it should state who your line manager is (i.e. who your real supervisor is). Then you can show that to this guy and say "look, you're not my supervisor, so-and-so is!" Also, your company should have organizational charts showing company structure and who reports to whom, so also show this to him if necessary.

Then again there's probably no need to go stirring up trouble. If you've already raised your concerns with the Directors and they've said he's not a supervisor, then there's no need to worry. So my advice would be just to ignore him.
