"Can you tell me about something you're good at, but hate doing?"

I was asked this during an interview. I wasn't expecting this question so I just said I thouroughly enjoy everything I do. I wasn't sure if I should of mentioned something about my job that I dislike but show them how I excel at it, or if saying "I hate this..." would show that I'm a negative person.

Wow what a loaded question.

You did the right thing, I must say.

Years and years ago, I worked in a factory while going to college.

I seriously disliked the mindless assembly, but was one of the best producers while I worked there. I even received multiple skills promotions.

Look into your past (babysitting, mowing yards, whatever) and come up with a generally disliked activity (changing diapers anyone?) but then say that you are good at it.

Good luck

Expect loaded questions on a job interview.

The best way to answer that question is the truth. I wouldn't start out the answer with "I hate....but I'm good at it." Say instead "I'm good at....but I don't enjoy doing it." I think what they want to know is even if you don't enjoy a certain area of your job description you'll do it well anyway.

I would have gone with paying bills. Shows you are responsible and no one can blame you for hating to pay bills.

I would have said something non-work related, like "doing dishes, laundry, etc."

If they prompted you for something work related, asnwer vaguely, like "Answering the telephone. It stops me from what I am doing, but I will be pleasant with whomever calls."
