I got my belly button peiced about a little less then year ago when I was 14 years old. It seems like the skin around the bar keeps getting smaller and smaller. Why is this? I have been taking good care of it and no one has pullet on it or anything like that... Can anyone tell me why this is happening, is it normal, and how to make it stop?

it sounds to me like your piercing is migrating it's way out of your body. it's not your fault. sometimes these things just happen. unfortunately, there's no way to stop it. my suggestion is to take out your jewelry and allow the hole to heal up. if you let it grow out, you could end up with a nasty scar. give it a month or two to fully heal and rest... then you can speak with a piercer about re-piercing it if you wish.

The body sometimes rejects piercings - particularly in the belly button and eyebrow. The same thing happened with my eyebrow piercing.

You may want to put a loop in to see if that will stay put, otherwise, you may just want to take it out before you get a scar.

Sounds like your body is rejecting it, it has nothing to do with how well you take care of it. I don't think you can stop it, and it is normal. I think your best bet is take out pretty soon, so the scar doesn't get too bad.

It is normal. It took mine about 14 months to heal. They told me to use this special solution and not to use antibacterial soap on it. Mine did not heal until I used the antibacterial soap.

My advice is do not worry unless pus starts coming out. Start using an anti-bacterial soap like Dial daily on it. You should be all healed up in about a month or two and you won't have to worry about it anymore.

Unfortunalty there is no way to make it stop, your body is rejecting it, mine did that but eventually stopped on its own, it almost came all the way off. Just try to keep it clean. And hope for the best.

i've had mine done three times and i couldn't get it to heal right until i used saline solution. it healed up in just a few days and i have no trouble at all now. it's been a few years.
