Oh, and I'll tell you of two female Japanese artists that are worth a listen. Puffy AmiYumi is a girl duo that puts out some really fun and clever rock music. (Yes, I know they were associated with a cartoon show of the same name, but they really are serious artists.) Their latest album is called Splurge and features songs in both English and Japanese. Very cool!
Another artist I like, though she's solo, is Ayumi Hamasaki. Her music is almost impossible to buy in the States. But Amazon Marketplace and Ebay both have it readily listed from Asian sellers.
