Because the left is hypocritical and blind; I quote:

"The greatest trick the Liberals have done is to redefine words to the point where they have no definitive meaning, and to remove colloquial connotations from other words. It is this policy that has altered the meaning of anti-Semite from anti-Jewish to anti-Arab and the masterstroke of the Left to remove criticism of their fascists policies by 'declaring' fascism the province of the Right."

Fasicsm isn't so much any particular system. It is an attitude. An aggressive religion. Like religion it wraps its arguments in emotional terms like chosen people, righteousness, greed and fear.

Fascism is characterized by highly centralized federal power, especially police and security power. A distrust and disdain for the masses, individual freedom and countervailing opinion, except as a tool to strengthen top-down policies and government power.

Fascism policies are pushed using a highly nationalist/militaristic/ patriotic rally cry and arguments, envoking emotional and fear based arguments to drive self serving grandiose policy dreams of an expanded empire and federal power via expansionist, aggressive, force based foreign policy.

IE, neocon call for Pax America. Just like Hitler's Pax Roman dream. Or Soviet Pax Communism. Fascist Japan. Fascist Spain. All claimed to offer the superior world view for its own people and subjegated client nations (may or may not be true).

the extreme left are in fact fascists-for they would institute laws for "the good of the people",without ever actually experiencing life as do "the masses".

That is a Liberal in a nutshell, a hypocrite. Libs love everything and everyone, but if you don't think like them, act like them, talk like them, hell if you smoke, then you are ostracized. Called everything from a racists to a sexist. I don't think they realize that what they do to others that don't share their point of view makes them exactly what they hate and supposedly fight for. It all comes back to one word and should be a synonym for a Liberal, hypocrite.

The say so because they do not read their history. Hitler was a nationilist socialist, who nationalized and regulated scores of German industries. He got his start with the SA, a homosexual organization who believed in the power of Teutonic masc.

He was a vegetarian, homo or bi sexual, socialist who believed in high taxes and nationalized and reguloated industry. He was a facist.

That sounds more like the libs to me.

I don't think they are saying neocons are Fascists but that some of the things they seem to do and stand for have some resemblance to things Fascists believe and do.

Perhaps a good way to describe it is if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, there is a pretty good chance it is a duck.

Apparently, they (in some cases) have not studied their history very well and do not understand what that term means.
Neither do they seem to understand what NAZI is, or socialist, or capitalist.
Just venom being spewed and talking points regurgitated without thought, just like in school.

simple resemblance.

while the nazis were far more efficient than the neocons are, they do share some basic traits.

the nazis always had a really severe enemy at the gates, the communists, for instance, that led them to 'for security reasons' remove just a little freedom from the german people in small increments over time.

very much the way the bush admin wants to be able to wire tap anyone without a search warrant, because the terrorists are such a scary enemy - but no mention on why we never needed to do with through the 50's, 60's,70's or 80's when we were facing complete global annhilation with the soviets.

then there's the love of propaganda - hitler and goebbels used to laugh out loud at the american and brit fumbling attempts at shaping public opinion about the war. propaganda is a big part of what the neocons do - things like demonizing the word 'liberal' and others follow a similar pattern to what the nazis did.

neocons also like loyalty oaths - they made anyone who attended a bush cheney campaign rally in 2004 either be a registered republican or sign a loyalty oath. hitler also loved loyalty oaths and freqently required high ranking nazis and prominent citizens to sign them - in some cases all workers in a munitions factory would be required to sign them.

link with big business - war is business. hitler started this when he linked closely with the krupp family in order to cement his own political stature - get lots of campaign contributions and bring this private sector company into the realm of state secrets, war strategies and that sort of thing. this is a lot like what we see in iraq with the privatization of the war.

the repetition of lies. hitler repeated lies about jews so often that people stopped looking into the facts that may lie behind such statements. this is very similar to what the republicans have done in order to get unqualified candidates such as george bush elected. the lies that the swift boaters stated, we all now know were rnc inspired lies by men who never actually served with kerry - but they were intrical in bush's victory.

this is just a start, but you get the point.

if cons want this sort of comparison to stop, they could just stop doing all of these things...

Liberals are walking oxymorons. They are tolerant of everyone's opinions....as long as they agree with them.
