I would vote yes. Here is why.
Tax money is taken from everyone to educate our children. As long as the money is sent to a state accredited school that teaches the base curriculum, who cares if the school is public or private. The concern here should be "Are the children getting the best education that money can buy?" and not if the money is taken away from a public institution.
Our public schools are failing. Why? Its not from lack of funds, it is from them being mismanaged and from the teachers unions taking control of the schools. A little competition for the money would go a long way to fixing the situation and weed out the bad teachers and administrators.

I hope I understand this question correctly. If I had the opportunity to vote for school vouchers I would vote FOR them. Right now I live in NY state and our schools suck. Our kids do very well in grades K-6, but after that the quality of education takes a rapid plunge. NY state tests prove that. We have a 10th grader who cannot write!! I argue with families all the time and tell them I would like to pull my kids out, but private school is $ 3000 per child per year. Who has that kind of money? Oh I forgot. EVERY single politician DC. I really wish someone would put education first.

college vouchers are a slippery way of absolving the government of having to supervise training. on a similar time, they'd reinstitute their propaganda device by ability of subsidizing deepest faculties that do exactly this. they'd artwork the two factors (shopper with voucher and company with subsidy) to mandate their very very own time table. There may be no standards in training. it would heavily prefer the wealthy. it would take supplies remote from public training. And it would reason us to slide better down the abyss of turning into as quickly as returned, a third international usa. each and each of the arguments you pay attention at the same time with prayer in college, creation coaching in biology, corrupt instructor's unions are all designed to undermine the well-known public college equipment. in the event that they'd weaken it, they'd supplant it, is the technique. they have been peddling this stupid voucher concern for years now.

Defiantly...actually I want to see it more specific...I want parents to be free to send the money to the schools they choose to put their kids in....Privatize all schools and let them compete for the revenue...that Eliminates the multiple layers of "Supervisors" and administration staff that cost the taxpayers MILLIONS. Have a central supply in each county that can buy in bulk from the suppliers and pass the savings on to the schools.
The schools giving a good education will flourish..those that do not..will fail and new ones will replace them...

I have voted for it. We must let the parents decide on what is best and stop the state from "educating" them. It is a parents right, which by the way the communists will take from you completely given the chance.

Depends on what you mean. If you are talking about somehow allowing competition between public schools, then yes, I'd like to see if we could do it.
I do NOT favor vouchers for private schools, because once there is any government money in private schools the federal government will have a reason to regulate them, and destroy them.

School Vouchers are awful !!!
They serve only the Ego of the Parent ! "You can't tell me how to educate my child"
If you like a certain school district for your kids "MOVE THERE" If your job will not let you, change jobs if it is that important to you. Don't burden school districts with vouchers, your children will end-up hating you for it anyway. Friends in one Town and Schoolmates in another I wouldn't want to grow up like that.
I say NO No NO NO NO No No No to vouchers!
oh yeah did i tell you I say no to vouchers.

NO. The school voucher is just a way to enable church run schools. It is the cowards way out. Rather than fixing our schools the voucher advocates want to run from the problem by being selective as to schools and who may attend and who may not attend elite schools etc. Everyone, and I do mean everyone wants his/her child to have a good education so the playing field will be level for them when they need to compete for jobs later in life. Vouchers gives privilege to some and not others. Let us not run from the problem let us get involved in our community schools. Participate. Leaving it all up to the teachers and not doing our part as parents is not going to ensure quality in our schools. Liker her or not Hillary Clinton's book title says it all "It takes a village".

When on the ballot I voted no. i am having second thoughts but here is my logic: Our public schools should be equally good as our taxes are paying for all of them. If we allow funds to be pulled from schools based on where people want their kids to go then in effect we are going to be a segregated country again. I don't know if this is a real solution. Our schools need to be fixed and it takes better budgeting. In order to free up money we should stop handouts and enrollment of illegal immigrants. Trim the fat from our government and stop our money from going overseas to help other countries.

No, because you would end up with a few excellent schools and many crappy/crappier schools.... and everyone.. despite the area they live in or how much money they have.. is entitled to a decent education. granted not all of our schools do well... but what you propose would make many far worse than it would make better.
