A register. You can also go to Staples and get an accounting book that will help you keep a budget as well as keeping track of deposits and withdrawals.

Book ? Never heard of a book in 40 years ,
All I ever had was the little check register that comes with the checks . . .
Back when checks were written instead of auto pays -
Now I periodically have to ask the bank service desk for the check registers because I only write about 6 checks a year , but have all those auto pays to log.

It's usually referred to as a "register" or a "ledger." They usually send you one when you order a box of checks, but you can usually get them from your bank if you ask for one.
