My best friend's b-day is next weekend, she'll be 25, and I am really stuck on what to get her. She's a graduate student in Optometry school, likes to go out and party on the weekends. I got her some drink mixes and liquor and stuff for x-mas and now I don't have a fresh idea for a b-day gift. Any suggestions??

I say take her to a nice dinner and movie..... You know a girls night out.. and tell her YOU pay and that is her Birthday present

The best gift considered is a thing which is used by the user. Thus u costly examine the friend of yours and see what she requires or is in need. If there is no any such thing then give her a good perfume so that whenever she use it it reminds of you. Or buy a pack of intense sticks (also called as Agarbatti u can get them from Indian stores if u r not in India) sandalwood, rose are good usually. Its fragrance will remind your face in her mind.

You didn't ask what not to get her, so I'll take the time to tell you what not to get her, okay? Now, don't get her any weapons, cause, lets say you get her a gift wrapped box that is heavy. Well you know what kind of present you got her so you know what is inside that heavy box, and so, your friend is about to open the very heavy box, and she has this great big new 25 year old smile, and she opens the box. Oh good golly miss molly, its a machine gun. And she says, why did you get her a machine gun? And you say because it is a dangerous world and little guns don't work no more. So, please now, do not get her a gun, and if you are going to get her a knife, make sure it is a cookin knife to cut up all that toxic beef meat that is so full of steroid shots and anti-biotics, oh, and don't get her flowers because that is something guys do for young wonderful dismals in colorful array. Happy birthday, one day she will be the big five-oe and so will you.

My old roommate was into black and that gothic type stuff which I never understood but she loved the store Hot Topic. I wouldn't recommend a gift certificate though because there are a lot of stores going under and Im not sure if that is one or not. what about like a black sweater or shirt? If she said she wanted a gc to the tattoo parlor then maybe get her that....yes it is impersonal but that is what she wants for sure.

Money is always nice, but I know it's not personal enough. Get her something that has to do with her personallity or activities, outside of drinking. Maybe a gift certificate from her favorite clothing store.

how about a nice blender to make the drinks? an Oster, or even a smoothie machine works well.. if You feel like a kitchen appliance is not appropriate, or out of your budget, how about a bar tenders guide, full of recipes for drinks :)
since she is a student i would also reccomend gift certificates to her favorite restraunt

Get her a gift certificate for a spa service - mani, pedi, massage, etc. It's something every woman loves but rarely does for herself!

I think that a massage or mani/pedi or facial would be nice. I think other people have suggested that too. I've tried to get my husband to get me that for every holiday, but sadly he doesn't take direct hints very well. So that would be excellent to get your friend.
