Robert Nesta Marley OM (February 6, 1945 – May 11, 1981) was a Jamaican singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He is the most widely known performer of reggae music, and is famous for popularising the genre outside Jamaica. A faithful Rastafari, Marley is regarded by many as a prophet of the religion.

Robert Nesta Marley, b Feb 6, 1945. His father was an English white man, his mother an 18 year old Jamacan girl, he grew up tough in Trenchtown Kingston. Sang with Peter MacIntosh and Bunny Livingston, forming the Wailers around 1960 (Robert Nesta Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer). Recorded lots of singles , then started to hit it big in 1972. Original Wailers disbanded around 1974-75, Bob Marley and the Wailers went on to become major world stars. Sadly Bob Marley died from complications to a foot injury, which resulted in cancer spreading through his body. His death was mourned throughout the world in 1981. Left widow Rita Marley and lots of children.

Well Nicolas, he was a famous reggae artist from Jamaica...some of his most popular songs include "Exodus" and "Redemption Song"...you can find them on iTunes. Also, his songs often included political messages addressing colonialism in the Caribbean as well as power structures which do not attempt to aid the impoverished. He unfortunately passed away from cancer at the age of 39, but his memory lives on as a musical revolutionary.
