I'm having trouble finding some information on his opinion about World War II.

Found a lot of history and biographies but no real info on that except these sites.

which states briefly: In Oct. 1940 he, Launched limited, individual civil-disobedience campaign against Britain's refusal to allow Indians to express their opinions regarding World War II - 23,000 persons imprisoned within a year.

No he didn't. He went along with the British until the war was over and gain independence 2 years later.

That subject was just on Paul Harvey news last Friday.

Unfortunately there were no references cited. This is what was said (the gist of it).

Ghandi said the Jews should not have resisted and said in retrospect, they should have comitted mass suicide when he learned (in 1945) of nazi atrocities. He said the British should have surrendered to the Nazis. ANYTHING to prevent war -- at any cost.

even if he didnt agree, the war was won and the evil Nazi's and its allies are now eliminated.
