A lot of people are saying John Arne Riise, while he does have a powerful left foot no one is remembering Robin van Persie. He can really strike a ball from long range. Just look at his free kicks against Ivory Coast in the World Cup last summer and against Everton and Fulham in the Premiership - absolute rockets! He is important to Arsenal because many of their attackers usually try to find the "perfect goal" in that they play a lot of short passes to get into the box and most of the times they only shoot from there but van Persie is different because he likes to test the keeper from far out and he is no stranger to scoring from long range.

Rise probably, haha who said Paul Scholes. The amount of times ive seen him miss for England from 3 yards makes me think he cant kick his way out of a wet paper bag. Peter Lorimer of the old Leeds maybe best ever.

Riise, saw him shoot from about 40 yards out and the ball rocketed off the bar.

I think Roberto Carlos is past his peak.
It's gotta be John Arne Riise.
Huddlestone or Schweinsteiger could be up there too.
