Better it be construed as "LYING"! Because that is exactly what it is!

Remember - "Read my Lips! No New Taxes!" -By Daddy Bush who lost his next election to Bill Clinton because of it.

But then there was "I will effectuate a Constitutional Amendment banning all Gay Marriages IMMEDIATELY after I am re-elected! - by George W. Bush who won his election based upon this lie against John Kerry in 2004.

Evidently Lies run in the Bush family!

No, every politician in history from all parties have reneged on promises made during their campaigns.

Except maybe Augustus, Roman Emperor, 27 BC-14 AD

I don't know how they define that exactly. I just know it makes me angry when they make promises they have no intention of fullfilling. Besides it's probably easy to make a promise when you know the the rest of the government officials are on a different agenda....you can always blame them and never have to take responsibility for a half-hearted attempt.

I do not believe there has ever been a human being let alone a politician that has made a promise and didnt keep it at least once in their lives.

No, not really. If your representatives break their promises you have the right to work hard to make sure they don't get elected again or even to have them recalled.
