I am currently living in honolulu hawaii....i've been here for a little over 3 years now and quite frankly, im getting pretty bored out here. Not to mention the cost of living, it's just ridiculous!!!! i have a 400 sq ft studio that i rent for 1200 per month...which i was lucky to get at that price, owner is a friend......anyways...ive been thinking about moving and wanted some of your opinions. I am a bartender and have been for almost 8 years now. 27 years old, no kids....hmmmmmmm...what else....oh ...i've already lived in Florida, Arizona, and New York, Korea, Germany....i was in NY the longest but i dont really care to return there, not to live anyway...great to visit but looking to move someplace new.... I've been thinking about Austin Tx as a possiblity...but i've never been there...or maybe Las Vegas...i just dont know!!!! help!!!!!!!!
Aloha and Mahalo everyone!!!!

Give Las Vegas a try. Lots of action and you will be tipped very well if you are good.
Check out Dallas, they have some get bars and restaurants.
Georgia is a growing area.
Caribbean?? US Virgin Islands?
Maybe you should consider a different part of Hawaii. Maybe Maui, Kauai, or the Big Island.
Good Luck.

If you're bored and want a real CHANGE-- then come on to
the windy city Chicago!! If you can't make it here-- you can't make it anywhere. We've got it all REAL change in all four seasons, Real snow for Xmas, falling leaves in auttum, beautiful Spring flowers, and YES it does get HOT in the summer. Look at all the great places to visit or work Navy Pier,Sears Tower, The Great White Way, The Loop, all the wonderful places to go. Art institute, Field museum,Lincoln Park zoo, Brookfield zoo. Museun of Science and Industry,Right here on Lake Michigian is a metropolitan city
thats always cooking day or night, and the night spots are great for a bartender, even the river boat 's are a little city in
theirselves.
Did I mention the marvelous restaurants? You've never eaten
such great food, until you explore the Taste of Chicago, where
you can eat your way into heaven while enjoying every type of
music and entertainment on the globe! No, I don't have any affiliations with our chamber of commerce, I'am just a person
that was born here, and I never get enough of this city, cause
I don't think I'll ever see it all, there's so many various ethnic
neighborhoods, that you can visit when we have all the citywide festivals.SOOOOO come on and have some FUN!!
Oh yea don't forget about Great America it's our version of
Disneyland!!

Well, here is an idea.
I live in SouthPadre Island, Texas. Awesome place to live. Its about 6 hours south of Austin. Low cost of living. You can get a apartment or condo twice or three times the size for 1,200. This place is a little island resort off the tip of Texas. Lots and lots of bars, so bartenders always needed and make good money. No matter where you live on the island, the beach is only two minutes away or less. The island is busy for a couple months a year and then is quite for a couple is goes back and forth. Its always sunny and beatiful, hardly ever gets cold. Its about 80 degrees right now. Beatiful weather.

I lived in Makakilo for 20+ years, then moved 3 years ago to Michigan. I love it here, cost of living is extremely low. After paying rent, I still have lots of spending money. I visit Oahu every year...I miss my island home.
I might be buying a house here...found a 4 bedroom with a pool for 70K...mortgage payment would be around $400 a month. I live by Lake Michigan, looks like an ocean, but not salty. Chicago is only two hours away from my place.
The people here are very friendly, I haven't encountered any racism. In the summer time, you can pick lots of fruits and vegetables for a very cheap price...sometimes you can get it free because it is too abundant. Winter is a bit cold, but my family has managed.
