The reason for the fight happen because Batista made the Comment that he was the lone reason why tickets are selling and people are coming to wrestling events, and he was the reason the WWE was able to "keep their heads" above water sort to speak while they lost major stars in Brock, Rock, and Austin. Booker and a few other superstars took exception of that comment and just so happened that Booker was the one who lashed out at Batista and thats why the fight ensued. And yes According to some who were present at that fight, it was real and Booker did get the best of Batista in that fight.
I'm proud of Booker for doing that because Batista hasn't been in the business long enough to make a claim of that magnitude and Booker had every right to feel offended and whoop that azz.

Yes, I heard about it too. Vince McMahon apparently responded much in the way classic promoter Bill Watts would do in such a situation and chastised Batista for not being able to beat down Booker :)
In fact, in the old days, if any wrestlers got into fights with members of the audience, Bill Watts would fine them if they didn't win the fight :)

Yes, it happened in 2006.
Nobody beat anybodies butt. Turns out it was a minor scuffle nothing major.
They were pulled apart and sent to different parts of the shoot to calm down. They have bad blood between them when the incident was reported at that time, but said wrestling was first and that they would probably never be friends.
Oh and by the way I am a HUGE Undertaker fan.
I am sorry to say the rumor is that he is going to lose to Batista at WM23. This has been set-up even before the Royal Rumble. The Taker was supposed to (did) win at the Royal Rumble then go on to WM23 to have a Title v.s Streak match.
The Taker is suppose to lose the match. The new rumor that (can/cannot) be proved at this point...... is that The Undertaker will be retiring not to soon after WM23.

Booker T is a former amateur boxer while Batista is just a "pro-wrestler". Despite how big Batista may be, Booker is a trained fighter and that would give him the advantage in a real brawl.

Duh. Batista is one of the most overrated wrestlers in that locker room. Booker T has more talent, in his right pinky finger than Batista. The Five time, Five time, Five time, Five time, Five time WCW champion, can whoop Batista's sorry ***.
