The Tears of Life

I felt the water of my life dripping slowly by.
I wanted to collect each drop to stop it from flowing by.
As I gathered each new drop 5 more would get past me.
As I feel my life going by much faster I cannot stop to save my past
for fear of losing my future.

I wrote this several years ago. I was just wondering if people can really tell what it is about? So what do you think that this poem is about and did you like it?

That was a really good poem, which is a high compliment considering how bad some poems out there are. This poem is about how you are trying to stop life from passing so fast, bu the harder you try, the faster it goes. You can't waste time trying to get back what you lost, because all chances awaiting you could be missed. It is a very true and powerful poem, and you deserve high marks for it. Revise it, maybe add some more powerful adjectives, and possibly make it longer (although I like how short it is; adds to the impact) and you could definitely enter it in a competition.
I loved it, sincerely.

Wow. i certainly like this. It gave me chills. I had to study it a 2d time by because of the fact at first i assumed it became saying some woman took administration of him and then BAM that is love. Wow. I enjoyed that. on the critiquing area, the commencing up i think of you by risk rhymed because of the fact something of the poem would not rhyme. i admire the two styles of poems, rhyming ones and ones that don't. I write them the two. notwithstanding if it became on twist of destiny, it would not neccesarily prefer changing yet possibly in case you probably can save the main important thought of the 1st stanza. super poem. or perhaps 13 year olds can write masterpieces so do no longer permit every physique get you down approximately your age. :D

to me its about getting older and how fast life passes you by without you realising it. There is no slowing the ageing process. sometimes life passes you by, you feel like you are losing control but if you spend too much time worrying about it you will miss out on anything the future may bring.
I really liked your poem
its short and too the point and thought provoking i spent a while reading it. i hope what i got out of it was what you were trying to convey

I believe your poem is about aging, and growing. You seem to be saying that as time goes on, life goes on. Although the past is worth remembering, it is not something that you can cling to. By trying to cling to the past, you miss what is happening now, and what will happen in the future.

Usually I loathe other people's poems because there is so much bad poetry out there, it's painful to read it. But this one was quite nice. I liked it, anyway.
