Canada is all over the place, with three major politcal parties - The Conservatives (who are in power and sit on the right), the NDP, who are on the left but float the closest to the centre, and the Liberals who.. well.. aren't that liberal. They sit on the left but tend to jump back and fourth from right to left on issues (the Chretien government did this a lot). While I cannot comment on if San Francisco / Berkely is more liberal or leftist than anywhere in Canada, it is possible however unlikely. In BC there are several movements, including the Marijuana Party of Canada (which is also located in Montreal) as well as BC has large percentage of 'alternative' views - including the highest rate of satanic cultists being located in Vancouver. Alberta is extremely conservative, almost American in contrast to BC since it has no universal health care plan. Ontario is extremely Liberal; being the heart of Canada's economy a lot of focus is put on issues here, especially revolving around global warming and other green issues.

Unfortunately I cannot comment on the other provinces since i have not lived there or discussed politics with people from there, but for the first time in Canadian history the Green Party rivals the NDP in the polls, the next election should be very exciting. I hope this helped you out :)

Vancouver, BC makes San Francisco and Berkely look like Crawford, TX on a Sunday morning.

The most conservative Canadian would be on the far left of the Democratic party, which is why Republicans hate Canada so much.

There is more to Canada than Toronto and Vancouver. Perhaps you should ask the good people of the Prairies, of northern Ontario, or of the Maritimes.

It is Clinton's fault. He left Reagan II a recession. The Iraqis should be happy they have the ability to support a slow bleed approach. They don't support the troops and want to cut and run. There is a liberal bias. Valerie Plame sent Joe Wilson to Niger after she gave Al Gore a million dollars under the name of her CIA cover operation so she was not covert. Global warming is a liberal conspiracy to bankrupt the country. Free market economics is the way to go. Why do you have freedom. We need more Jack's from 24 to help us win the war on terror. We need to fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here. Liberals hate Christians. We need to build more prisons and put more police on the streets. We need a military with more weapons. Liberals are immoral.

So next time you wonder what it is they are going to say, just pick one of the above answers. Or you can turn on Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity that way you wont have to ask on here you can get it straight from the source.

i like Ottawa extra effective than the different city in Canada...yet from there on out, i might say Victoria is my 2d commonly used city and then Halifax. I dislike SW Ontario given which you get caught there and in no way leave and all people is acquainted with all people (I extremely have 3 generations of kinfolk there), yet Ottawa is marvelous for lots of motives that i'm specific you experienced as a baby, yet much extra which you have no longer yet experienced!

I've lived in the Bay area before, and yes it is very liberal/left winged in attitude, but I think Canada is more liberal and socialist in practice (based on what my parents say who live there now).
